Rented a Core Aerator from Home Depot
Rented a Core Aerator from Home Depot. Post. by DIY Lawn Guy » Wed Jun 19, 2019 9:41 pm. I have had my lawn core aerated in 2017 and 2018 by my past lawn service. Cost me $90. The lawn guy had a nice stand-on power aerator and took about 20 minutes to cover my 8K Sq Ft lawn. Well, I decided to rent an aerator a few months ago and go DIY this year.

Sand Top Dressing Rental Equipment
Robin Rents in Huntsville, AL does have a top dressing machine, if you're up for a road trip. Lawn Size: 59,000 square feet. Could you use a regular fertilizer spreader to spread sand and or lime. It would not be as efficient as professional golf course equipment but you also would not be doing it as many times.
Worth it to rent a self propelled top dresser

Where can I get this machine
Rentals do exist but far too costly for a single residential lawn unless you have acres to do. I’ve thought about getting neighbors in on a big group rental. Buy top-dressing in (serious) bulk, rent a mounted top dresser like that one, and a small loader to fill the top dresser.
Which equipment when rehabbing a construction site/home
Just FYI, I know SunBelt Rentals has this weekend deal that if you rent the equipment on a Friday after 1200 and you return it first thing Monday morning, they only charge you for ONE day as long as the equipment has less than 8 hours of run time on it. Obviously, check with your local branch to see if they offer the same thing.
Buy cheap electric dethatcher vs renting a professional
I think the ones at Home Depot are only $50 so you could get 4 rentals out of that one. I'm thinking I'm going to buy one for myself like the one you linked to. At least until I can save up for a mower with a cartridge system. That's the ultimate goal.
My lawn is a disaster
As new homeowner (and someone who has never really paid attention to the lawn in my previous rentals), I suppose Im thinking that what I see on the lawn now is what it will be like in the upcoming months. Perhaphs my thinking is wrong and the grass that is actually alive has yet to come out.
Aero-Vatorbetter way to aerate compacted soils!
That is a problem and probably why rentals are sparse. 5 years ago there were three places within 20 miles of me that rented them, and now: none. Top. Mightyquinn Moderator Posts: 4570 Joined: Tue Jan 31, 2017 3:35 am Location: …
New construction lawn
We will be doing the work ourselves as we are a family of equipment operators and have a backhoe and additional rentals are close by. I redid my current lawn several years ago adding French drains, removing a layer of clay soil and adding sandy top soil. I did this without research or knowledge that I am going to do this time.
Do you own a core aerator
As for rentals and getting them home, If you have a Home Depot close by, you can also rent trailers or a pick up for something like $20 for 75 minutes. Compost Topdresser Spreader
Compost Topdresser Spreader. The thing is nearly $800 and while I'd prefer not to spend that on something that I'll only use a couple times a year, I have found no local rentals here in the DC area. One last thing I thought I'd try before ordering the 24d, is modification of a cheap drop spreader. I know the hopper wouldn't be as big.
Should I buy a used Toro Recycler
If the tool rental guy is being truthful, he said they don't get a ton of rentals for the push mowers at this location and it hasn't been used a lot. I haven't started it up or anything but it does show a little ware on the paint job but no rust or anything. I'm not the handiest guy, but I can change the oil out and put new blades on a mower.
Anyone have experience with a Billy Goat Plugr aerator
"This compact 18" aerator is ideal for smaller property aeration or rentals and features reciprocating cam tines that propel the unit forward and drive cores up to 2.75" deep. The unit can aerate up to 22,000 sq. ft. per hour, is simple to operate for homeowners, easy to steer without lifting and requires no add-on weights."
any alternative (DIY
any alternative (DIY?) to a peat moss spreader besides by hand? Im am preparing to lay down my seed for a total yard reno im doing (only about 6.5k sqft) and cant find anywhere to rent a peat moss spreader for after I lay down the seed. Ive looked online and dont really want to spend around $130 for one since i will probably only use it once.
To early for prodiamine in northern Illinois
Of prodiamine yo spray my lawn, a few rentals I own and a summer place. Is it still to early to put it down in Chicago area? I plan on mixing some trimec 992 with it. I calculated sometime in the first 2 weeks of April for soil temps to hit 55deg (use a meat thermometer to check). It's not a huge deal either because for me I can spot spray the
Agri-fab Tow behind plug aerator
So I have been pricing out aerator rentals and its about an average of $100 a day through some equipment rental companies. (sunbelt, united, blah blah) I found an Agri-Fab tow behind aerator for $193 on amazon. I figure 2 seasons the thing would pay for itself.
everyone says don't rototill, but
Will a power rake from home depot rentals be enough? Some areas of the yard are just soft florida sand with clumps of dead weeds, bahia grass, etc. other areas areas have those dead weeds/grass and sand, but under that is a layer of red lava rock and under that is a layer of broken down weed barrier (with roots growing right through it) then
Has anyone used this fast way to install poly pipe
I was informed that customers who want to use their product to install piping as illustrated in the video would need to purchase an eye-bolt, a wider blade, and some sort of feeder "guide" for the piping. In total, it's all about $140.00 or so. The rental cost from HD is $62.00 for 4 hours or $88.00 for the whole day.
LLano Estacado 2018 lawn journal
Rented a Billy Goat from Sunbelt Rentals. This unit specifically. Also the "verticutter" I used was really an overseeder, also a billy goat machine. This one worked like a charm. Llano, are you interested in a Triplex Green mower for your 4500Sq Ft. - I'll load it up and drive it over to you and deliver it to you.
Do you own a core aerator
I bought a slightly used Billygoat Plugr from United Rentals. I have used it far more that you would think. I do have a putting green that I was solid tine spiking during the summer, but for that application the billy goat just wasn't good enough, and a little rough.
Help! Need advice on ground prep for Texas st aug sod
I checked the local price at Sunbelt Rentals for one of these machines - $56 a day. I have used a manual dethatching rake in the past to replace dead grass. It is hard work, but if you are in good shape and enjoy a good workout, you could try that. These cost about $35 at Lowe's.
REEL Low BERMUDA question
If you have a Sunbelt Rentals near you, you can rent a Dingo skid steer for @ $150/day with a Harley Rake attachment. You'd use that to bust up the ground, and level out the entire lot with the existing soil that you have on site. It'll also help the seeds establish, and ensure that you have a nice and level seedbed to start with.
2020 Front Yard Renovation
So I texted my boss asking for Monday off to take care of seeding my lawn. I promptly called Sunbelt Rentals, since the have the self-propelled overseeder on their website. Nope, they don't have one, just the push version. Finally I went to the HD near me and see what I could make work.
Is doing nothing but mowing for 20 years organic
But over the past few years, many homes are now rentals and yards are starting to get very weedy.. Not that my 1/4 acre was ever a golf course, but Ive been pulling weeds and digging thistles by hand ever since I moved in, as I don't like chemicals or …
2019 What did you do with your lawn today
Core aerated all 26k this morning. Got a 28” aerator from SunBelt rentals for $40. Far cry from the $380 that my local lawn service quoted me for aeration. Gonna mow and then put down my first application of Carbon X tomorrow. Excited to see the results.
North Alabama Sand for Leveling
Yeah, I was looking at their website the other day to see what they had in terms of rentals. They do have a dump trailer listed, but don't give any specifics as to it's capacity (haven't called them yet to get more details). The price was listed at …
Good power tools for Reno
If I want to avoid actual tillage of my soil, which would create a lot of lumpiness I would have to smooth out first, what are some good power tools to use for a Reno to rough up the soil surface and/or slightly bury seed? 10k square feet is a bit much to use a garden rake on!
Top Dresser for Renovation
So I tried to rent an ecolawn at the one place within 250 miles that has one. No dice. So I ended up buying one instead. With top soil it helps to have neighbors with expensive toys. 10 yards spread evenly and then 80 bales of peat moss covering the seed two days later
What do you use to verticut
The Sunjoe, which I have, may be an ok dethatcher on dormant grass but it's no verticutter. I've been thinking about a crude substitute verticutter for a very small zoysia lawn. (Like 500 ft^2) Just a 20in wide board with rows of utility blades fixed to it. 9 or 10 rows of blades spaced about 2" apart.
I get the Classen is more of a professional grade machine and is gas powered, but two daily rentals of that machine would cost about the same as purchasing the Sun Joe to own and use at my leisure. Has anyone used both? Top. Huff Posts: 100 Joined: Mon Oct 22, 2018 10:27 pm Location: Hendersonville
Killed Lawn to reseed
Killed Lawn to reseed - will it grow in this? So I decided to kill my KBG and seed perennial rye. I rented a large tiller and filled up the dead grass but unfortunately I have clumps of grass everywhere. Too much to clean up. And when I rake that top soil you see in the pictures, more dead grass chunks come up.
What steps necessary to resod from bermuda to zoysia
I've been advised offline to rent a dingo and harley rake but that might end up being almost a grand in rental fees (according to sunbelt rentals). Hoping there might be a cheaper solution to prepping the ground for the new sod.
New sod mowing problems
Prior to the first cut the grass was of course tall. I waiting a month prior to mowing to allowing the rooting to take place and not risk ruining the roots given my mower is a little on the heavy side given it is a 42" zero turn. For the first few mows I mowed at 3 inches so as to not cut more than 1/3 the length.
